Angie Pigeon is an experienced health program director for High Bar First Nation, with many years of experience as a Registered Nurse – both in Emergency care as well as in Home and Community Care in First Nations communities. 

Angie liaises with various health partners to secure funding initiatives to develop a community health program for community members of High Bar First Nation. She is also building capacity within the health department and engaging with prospective health providers. 

Angie has always been a strong advocate for First Nation’s health equity and is passionate about providing culturally safe nursing care and creating systems change. 

She was previously elected to the First Nations Health Directors Association Board to serve as a technical advisor and represent the Interior Region by guiding partners in the Health Governance Structure in building programs and services. 

Outside of work, Angie enjoys spending time on the land camping, fishing and exploring Secwepemculecw with her husband and two sons. Her family ties are to Esk’etemc, and she loves to learn about her culture and bring teachings into health programs.
